Crypto Influencer Ben Armstrong Arrested in Florida After Admitting to Active Warrant

  • Ben Armstrong was arrested in Florida after revealing there was a warrant for his arrest on social media.
  • The warrant was linked to emails he sent to a Georgia judge while acting as his own legal representative.
  • Armstrong has faced past arrests and lawsuits and was recently dropped by his former crypto media company.

Ben Armstrong, widely recognized in the crypto space as “BitBoy,” was arrested in Florida on March 25. Authorities from the Volusia County Division of Corrections confirmed he was taken into custody at 7:18 pm local time. He was listed as a fugitive from justice. The arrest followed days after Armstrong publicly acknowledged a warrant issued against him.

Legal Trouble Linked to Georgia Court Emails

The warrant reportedly stemmed from Armstrong’s decision to represent himself in an ongoing legal matter. He sent several emails to Superior Court Judge Kimberly Childs in Cobb County, Georgia. Armstrong alleged that the judge removed her social media accounts after receiving those messages. No official confirmation has been given on the judge’s response.

Armstrong shared news of the warrant through a post on X on March 21. At the time, he claimed that the emails were the cause of his legal issues. Information about Armstrong’s legal representation is still unavailable. No comment has been released by Armstrong or any confirmed attorney.

Previous Arrests and Settled Lawsuits

Armstrong has faced several legal challenges in the past year. In September 2023, he was arrested while livestreaming outside the home of a former business associate. During the stream, he accused the individual of refusing to return his Lamborghini.

He was also named in a class-action lawsuit filed in March 2023. The lawsuit alleged that Armstrong promoted Binance which was accused of selling unregistered securities. NBA player Jimmy Butler was also named in the case. In August 2024, Armstrong and Butler reached a settlement. They agreed to pay $340,000 combined, without admitting wrongdoing.

Controversial Public Persona and Shifting Opinions

Beyond legal issues, Armstrong has remained active and vocal in the crypto space. He recently claimed to have “saved” the Cardano project by drawing attention through negative remarks. He said this tactic encouraged institutional investment. Cardano supporters, including founder Charles Hoskinson, reacted to his statements.

In February 2024, Armstrong fought a memecoin developer during a Karate Combat event in Mexico. He won the match and later stated there was no conflict between them afterward.

Armstrong’s connection with Hit Network, which owns the BitBoy Crypto brand, ended in August 2023. The company cited unprofessional conduct and substance abuse. Armstrong denied the claims and accused his former partners of staging a coup. His latest arrest raises fresh questions about his future involvement in the crypto industry.
