Dating six hundred people in the bustling city of San Francisco might take more than a lifetime if you date the way we humans are used to, but now there will be a bot to help you do that without the daunting messaging and making introductions.
As Whitney Wolfe Herd says, this is the future of dating. On a lighter note, the picture above looks like two wrestlers are thinking of attacking each other, but they are actually an illustration of the same two AIs we mentioned in our first point.
Bumble is using AI
Herd, who recently stepped down as Bumble CEO and is also the founder of the app, was discussing Bumble’s future at Bloomberg Tech with host Emily Chang and talked about how AI will impact dating and platforms like Bumble. She also said the platform will leverage AI to “help create more healthy and equitable relationships.”
She said that in the near future, you could talk to your dating concierge (artificial intelligence) to help you sort out relationships and dating issues, and you could also openly discuss all your insecurities or concerns.
She gave examples, like if you just got out of a breakup recently or if you’ve got commitment issues, get helpful tips on how to effectively communicate with people to improve your dating experience.
Using AI to strike conversations in a jolly way is an idea that some apps are already working on; for example, Love Genius, with its AI functionality, helps in creating compelling messages and dating profiles.

But Herd is thinking of more exclusive ways to use the technology, as she said at the Bloomberg summit,
“If you want to get really out there, there is a world where your dating concierge could go and date for you with other dating concierges.”
Listening to this, the crowd present at the event broke into laughter, to which Herd added,
“And then you don’t have to talk to 600 people… It will scan all of San Francisco for you and say, These are the three people you really ought to meet.”

She said that the company has already been using AI and machine learning algorithms for the past few years, even before it was trendy, and the platform is in the very early stages of evolution, hinting at the prospects of much more potential that the platform carries in itself.
In a recent survey by AI platform Pollfish, it was revealed that in the United States, 1 in every 3 men used ChatGPT for relationship advice and were aged between 18 and 34. While Bumble stands at number 2 according to market share in the US with 26%, the top US dating app Tinder is just one percent ahead of it with a 27% market share.
