Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, has been appointed as a Strategic Advisor to Pakistan’s Crypto Council. This appointment marks a new phase for Pakistan’s efforts to enhance its position in the global crypto and blockchain sectors.

This decision came during a meeting between Binance founder Changpeng Zhao and the members of the Pakistan Crypto Council that was presided by Pakistan’s Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao will be responsible for offering insights into different real-world domains of the crypto space such as, regulation, infrastructural developments and the advocacy processes of the crypto industry. He will also help to coordinate the formulation of a framework where the law is complied with but at the same time the spirit for inventions ignited.
While congratulating Zhao on his appointment, the Finance Minister of Pakistan, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb said;
“With CZ onboard, we are accelerating our vision to make Pakistan a regional powerhouse for Web3, digital finance, and blockchain-driven growth.”
Changpeng Zhao’s new advisory position in Pakistan comes after a recent deal signed with the Kyrgyzstan National Investment Agency. This agreement will help promote and develop Central Asia’s Web3 industry, particularly in Kyrgyzstan.
Pakistan’s Vision for Digital Transformation
Pakistan has recently expressed a great deal of interest in investing in digital finance and blockchain technology. With the growing awareness of cryptocurrencies, the Pakistan Crypto Council set up under the Finance Division is responsible for this change. The leadership of this country regards adoption of blockchain and other crypto assets as a means of fostering economic development and innovation in different industries.
Bilal Bin Saqib, the CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council stated that the appointment of Zhao is very significant. He remarked,
“Pakistan is opening its doors to the future of finance, and who better to guide us on this journey than CZ— a pioneer who built the world’s largest crypto exchange and changed the way billions think about financial freedom.”
Since Changpeng Zhao has been involved with Binance, one of the most successful and experienced cryptocurrency trading platforms worldwide, his insights are crucial to formulating Pakistan’s regulative policies and cryptocurrency markets.
Strengthening Pakistan’s Position in the Global Crypto Market
The appointment of Zhao is also a part of Pakistan’s strategic plan towards embracing blockchain and cryptocurrency industries. It is expected that Zhao will also assist Pakistan in developing an effective and complaint environment that will place the country at a competitive ground internationally.
There is huge potential in this sector given that Pakistan has a population of 240 million people, out of which over 60% are below the age of 30. This young population gives the country a perfect chance to establish a vibrant crypto market. Zhao articulated the huge opportunity saying,
“Pakistan with its population of 240 million, over half of which is below the age of 30 years.” The potential here is limitless.”
With Binance founder’s expertise, the Pakistan Crypto Council hopes to drive innovation, create jobs, and attract investment, while fostering an environment where both the public and private sectors can collaborate effectively.
