Pro Bitcoin Matt Gaetz nominated by Trump for US attorney general

Donald Trump has nominated Matt Gaetz for Attorney General of the United States in his second round of presidency. Gaetz also announced his resignation which is “effective immediately” from his Congress position.

On June 25, Gaetz introduced a legislative bill for the Internal Revenue Service to allow Bitcoin payments from US citizens for paying their federal income taxes. His intention for this bill is to modernize the tax system in America.

Therefore, Trump’s choice of Gaetz could bring about major changes in the crypto world. There is an expectation from Gaetz to force a regulatory approach to favor digital asset innovation in a balanced way.

Gaetz’s resignation finishes off his term in the House of Representatives. This has also put an abrupt stop to the investigation started in 2021 by the House Ethics Committee for his reported s****l misconduct and drug use.
