Google’s Quantum Chip and Bitcoin Security

Since Willow, a powerful quantum computing chip, was introduced by Google in 2024, the crypto community has been discussing the possibilities of creating a quantum-resistant environment for the crypto industry.

Meanwhile, experts believe that quantum computing currently poses no threat to the cryptocurrency sector, especially Bitcoin.

To break the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algoritum of Bitcoin, at least 1 million qubits is needed. Willow’s strength is just 105 qubits.

Tether CEO’s View on Quantum Threats

Ardoino acknowledges that quantum computing poses no immediate threat to the crypto industry.

He emphasises the possibility of the introduction of quantum-resistant addresses in the future. He also notes that once such wallets are launched, existing wallet holders can move their assets to these wallets.

Speculation About Satoshi Nakamoto’s Identity

Tether CEO’s statement has once again triggered a discussion around the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.

That last time a serious discussion about his identity emerged was before the release of an HBO documentary on Nakamoto.

Sadly, the documentary failed to provide a conclusive answer to the question ‘who actually is Nakamoto?’ Instead, it created more confusion, unconvincingly presenting Peter Todd as Satoshi Nakamoto.
