Vietnam has launched NDAChain, a national blockchain platform designed to strengthen its digital infrastructure. The state-backed system will support identity verification, secure data transactions, and smart contract operations. It was developed by the National Data Association (NDA). The platform is operated by the Data Innovation and Exploitation Center under the Ministry of Public Security.
NDAChain will serve as a core layer for digital systems across key sectors, including government services, finance, healthcare, education, and logistics. It forms part of the government’s long-term digital transformation strategy. Vietnam aims to complete national integration of the platform by 2026.
Hybrid Architecture and Security Model
The blockchain uses a hybrid data architecture. It bridges centralized control and decentralized processes to improve the scalability and security. The platform is built on a Proof of Authority (PoA) consensus protocol. This structure is supported by 49 validator nodes which are operated by state agencies and private companies.
The system incorporates the use of zero-knowledge proof technology that enables verifying data safely without revealing any personal information. This gives the users more privacy and control. SunGroup, Masan, Zalo, Sovico, MISA, and VNVC are the major players in the private sector.
Digital Identity and Traceability Features
NDAChain supports NDA DID, a decentralized identity system. This tool verifies users during online transactions and enables secure digital contract signing. It links directly with Vietnam’s national identity systems for streamlined authentication. The NDAKey application allows users to confirm identities within seconds.
The blockchain also includes NDATrace, a traceability tool that assigns unique identifiers to products. This feature supports cross-border product tracking and counterfeit prevention. Both NDA DID and NDATrace follow international data standards, including W3C DID and GS1.
Deployment Timeline and Global Alignment
Vietnam plans to expand the NDAChain across all provinces and universities by the end of 2026. The current phase targets integration into the National Data Center before 2025 ends. Later phases will support Layer 2 applications and services tailored for various industries.
The platform will also facilitate international partnerships and technical collaboration. Vietnam has joined the countries that have deployed national blockchain infrastructure. These countries are China, South Korea, and European Union states. The systems will enhance digital governance, data latency and transparency in the delivery of public services.
With NDAChain live, Vietnam moves closer to a unified and secure digital framework. The platform will act as a key pillar for future innovation and national digital operations.
